Bad Appetite

Yeah yeah, I haven't been posting... Sue me!

So lately I'm not eating well... (Even when my stomach is growling, I just don't feel like eating) Reason? HOW THE HECK WOULD I KNOW??!??! If I knew, of course, then I would've solved my goddam problem and started eating like a normal person =.=

Whatever.. Have you EVER felt like not eating? Like you just stare at your food and you go, "Ugh.." but your stomach is playing a huge concert? Yes? No? Well, I have. Almost EVERYDAY for dinner when I'm forced to take rice =.=

So no matter how much you don't feel like eating, you still gotta eat! From a Korean drama I watched, which I happily forgot the name of, had this one verse that really caught my attention. Just for fun, I'm going to briefly explain the contents of ONE part of that long drama..

There's this girl who got some gastric cancer and she left her boyfriend for a few years to get treatment in America. She didn't tell her boyfriend and just left without him knowing. (Why? Go watch it...) So after these few years, she comes back to find him. Her doctor, comes along days after. So the drama goes on and on.... This girl meets up with her ex and BEGS for forgiveness which he does not give. They start quarreling and all. And the drama goes on... Then there's this part where they "officially" break up and this girl just don't feel like eating anymore. She skips her meals and her doctor gets worried. Then one fine morning her doctor visits her and makes porridge for her. He says, "My mother used to say, 'If you're not hungry, you should never skip your meals, so eat porridge.'"

So that's the line. Well, it brought much thought to me since I don't feel like eating at all. Skipping meals is what I do best and once I ended up in the hospital with gastric =.= So better take care of my stomach than face the hospital, no?

Take a look at one of my meals... Rice and fish... Almost everyday.... (Don't count the poorest people and say I'm lucky please, I've got enough of that...)

Then of course I got super annoyed at my DISGUSTING MEAL and went I WANT PORRIDGE. My nanny was like, "If you want porridge, do it yourself" So I was like "Fine!"

I remember my dad saying, "Porridge is only rice and water." So I thought, why not add water and boil it??

So here's how it went:

I got a pot, filled it with water then poured my rice into it:

Then I put it on high fire, look at how it boiled!

Then I thought it was not suitable with high temperatures, so I turned down the fire..

Looking like porridge!! xD

Here's my porridge!! HAHAHA!!!

Porridge is bland so I made some eggs to go with it

and a dash of pepper!!

My meal for most nights =P how appetizing huh? But what can I do when I don't feel like eating huh? Porridge is the best cure!!!

Eating Out

So yeah, I had a sort of family dinner with, duh, my family. We went to this place called:

新合計餐店

SIN HUP JI

That's what I think, hahaha, didn't take note of the sign board until we left. So yeah, didn't really catch what it said, but I SWEAR it is  新合计餐店!!! It's somewhere located in Ipoh... In the middle of tons of shoplots~ hahahaha, I'm sorry I don't take note of addresses! =P

So before we headed out, we went to my grand aunt's house. There were really cute pandas on the cupboard~ I couldn't resist taking pictures of them!!!

isn't this one just adorable~~ xDD

guess what they're doing! -WRONG! they're not mating lol, just sitting~

you can spot that stain over there, yup, i think it's coffee.... (judging by the color)

And now, we move.... not on xD
I still have an uncle to show you guys!!!

hehehehe~ he said, "don't you have anything else to take pics of?"
and i said, "nope"
then my aunt came in and said, "take pic of your uncle la! so handsome!"
then he starts to object, and "CLICK!" goes the camera!! xDD

Okay, NOW we can move on~

Alright, you know that I didn't take any pictures of the sign... So don't ask =.= Thank you very much.

Okay... where do we start? FROM THE START!! DUH!! Where do you wanna start? Halfway?

Soo, we got down the car (luckily we parked VERY close) and walked some teeny-weeny steps and entered the air-conditioned restaurant.

Of course, we sat. Got a table for 10, because there were 10 of us... Why else? For a ghost?

We continue~ I got bored~ Might as well take a few pictures, right? You must be wondering why I'm holding a camera at that time. Good question, my dad asked me too, and my aunts asked me too. So here's why: I don't wanna miss a thing!!

well, this is part of a HUGE portrait/painting/mirror.. I can't recall.... this is like bamboo, isn't it coolio??

yup, one of the random things i took while i was bored.... soy sauce.....

VISA? what's visa got to do with a restaurant?
"credit-card payment"
i think~

tradition for chinese restaurants, they ALWAYS serve chilli/peppers/ginger, etc right after/before they take our orders. then the food comes like half an hour later... =.=

our utensils... i was "experimenting the cleanliness~"

look how bored I was... this is the table =P
nice and clean, eh?

yeah, yeah, toothpicks!

yup, i got SO BORED, i even got my sister to pose her thumb for me, lol xD

Then~ tea came xDDDD

the tea cup~ (actually mine, didn't take the other ones...)

ahh, this is a traditional Chinese tea, Pu Erh (Pu 'Er)

Then I got bored again!!! So what did I do? TAKE MORE PICS, DUH!!!!

my dad with my grand aunt ^^

another grand aunt of mine

my grand uncle, doesn't he just look so bored? xD

my aunt and my cousin (her son, Alvin)
I'd like to add some nasty facts on my cousin, but I decided against it. It's not nice to talk bad about people behind their backs ;)

And thank GOD!! The food finally came!! After like 15 minutes or so. Not a long time, but boredom hits me really fast, hahahaha xD
but which one of the dishes came first? I don't EXACTLY remember the sequence, who does anyway?? =.=

this is know as the "House's Special Tofu"
my favorite part of this dish? the meat xDDD
the tofu is sweetish like~

Pork, hahahaha!
"Salted Fish Belly Pork" (咸鱼花篮锅)
I think I wrote it right @@
Anyway, it's alright~

"Asam Curry Fish Head"
seriously???
yeah, it's SOUR like DAMN!!! I don't take much sour, but my uncle (who loves all food) says it's good, not bad, yada yada yada~

yeah, WHITE RICE... what did you think? something incredibly special about this blob of white.... thing???

this is one of the most coolest dishes EVER!!! it's eggs, all of it, EGG!!
A mixture of salted egg, hard-boiled egg, and the "legendary" 100 day-old egg!!
I have no idea what's it called though~ =P

of COURSE there would be chicken!! What did you think???
this dish is called the "Stew-Salted Chicken" or "Salted Chicken Stew"?
They called it in Chinese, don't blame me!!!
My relatives claim it's really salty and hard. My comments: salty? not really. Hard? LIKE ROCK!!!

Ah, there will be veggies, definitely! this is a normal dish, hahaha
"Sweet Potato Leaf fried with Garlic"

Okay, so that's practically all of our dishes. So how much do you think it all costs? RM200? THAT EXPENSIVE? NO WAY!!! RM150? Close enough~ It's RM120 for the dishes plus the tea and rice. Whatever, RM120 total. Cheap,eh? for 10 people. My uncle (who's from PJ) claims it's cheap.... I'm a Batu Gajah person (almost like a village kid), so I think it's quite expensive... =.= Yeah, I'm cheap, sue me!

So after we finished (or mostly "I"), I got bored, again! So what did I do? Take pictures... DUH....

LOOK AT ME!!! I GOT SO BORED I TOOK PICTURES OF ICE IN A GLASS!!!!! =.=

So, moving ON~ We head back to my grand aunt's home~ Where we... talked.... and did.... nothing.... And so, while the A-dults chatted, and my sisters went all "ant" on me, I was left alone and BORED!!

Took  pictures of a pair of glasses from 3 different angles... Note the boredom sucking me up.

Trying to capture the reflection of the camera on some aerosol can, SUCCESS!!

Radio speaker.... (like the ancient type)

Desktop speakers...

Monitor.... Note the dust...

Lalala~ If you don't know this, imma smack the hell outta ya!

While I played around with the camera, 3 old folks played mah-jong.

my grand-aunt

another grand-aunt
and a mystery hand~ oooh~ (it's Alvin's)

Apparently, young guys enjoy mah-jong.... I now have  male cousins who ENJOY mah-jong... =.=
In case you didn't know, mah-jong is a traditional Chinese game, which in my dictionary is for old people, but for nosy women as well.... That's the impression I get from people who play mah-jong, sharp/high pitched voices (like Fran Fine from The Nanny) and awfully talkative.... (like my mom)

Anyway, that's pretty much it. I've spent 2 hours making this blog, whoopie!! =D
Okay guys, it's 11:33pm right now, I'm leaving, Good night!!
